We had a great time at the Sweets Corners Fundraiser. The Lyndhurst Rejuvenation Committee was able to raise just shy of $500 for improvements in the village! Congratulations and thanks to all of the students at Sweets Corners School for making it a great night.

My Canadian Music

Six young artists have been working very hard on their music and the culmination of all of that work will be on display at Gananoque Secondary School on Thursday April 7th.  My Canadian Music Volume 1 is a compilation of 18 music tracks that has been in the works over the past year. “We are very excited to be able to share the official release with the community and the school .” stated Producer and Label Owner, Joseph Baptista of Country Multimedia. The six artists are past and present students of GSS. The artists were signed to the fledgling label early in 2010 and,  in addition to the compilation, are working on solo albums with Baptista. The new CD will be on sale at the show and the proceeds are going back to the school to support the school’s Art and Music programs.

“This area has an amazing amount of young talent. We are really excited to be able to give back to the community and support these young artists,” says Baptista. More of the school’s great young talent will be on the stage at this spring’s Coffee House, in addition to the My Canadian Music artists.

My Canadian Music features the music of local musicians: Cameron Smith, Tanya Trombetta, Rebecca Lynne Demers, Ryan Trottier, Amos Williams and Melissa Shaw. The group is planning a series of shows throughout the region to promote their new CD, which will be announced soon on MyCanadianMusic.com. The highlight of the small tour will be Youthfest 2011 at the Lansdowne Fair during the evening on July 15th, 2011

My Canadian Music Volume 1 is available on CDBaby,  iTunes and CountryMultimediaStore.ca. Tickets for the Gananoque Secondary School Coffee House are $5 and are available at the door.
